Well our east coast chapter, headed by the inimitable Alana and Tommy held a private screening of Disney's Latin American adventure 'The Three Caballeros' in Brooklyn in January. Here in San Francisco, the lovely Ms. Lauren Steele hosted a private viewing of Lars Von Trier's most recent film 'Antichrist' to a small crowd including many new members! The combination of genital mutilation, whiskey, and tuna tartar made for an exciting evening of very lively debate as we discussed the film's imagery and the eternal Von Trier question- misogynist or pessimistic poet of the dark depths of human nature? Next up is Robert Mitchum in the classic, 'Night of the Hunter' and then hopefully (if we can get a copy) Myleen's pick, Kaneto Shindo's 'Kuroneko' or 'The Black Cat'- hurry up Criterion!
